So this past weekend, we went camping at Kolob Reservoir in Zion National Park. It was frickin' freezing!!! When we pulled up, it was 29 degrees outside and snowing! I was like, "well this is pretty...ok, lets go!" I was not so happy about the fact that it was snowing, but it turned out to be a fun weekend! We met Caroline and Travis (our Vegas friends) up there, and drove up with my brother James, his wife Christy, and their son Austin.

So we got out of the car, and started setting up camp. The sun finally started shining through, and I had hope for a good weekend. The weather continued to be good (meaning it wasn't snowing) until we went to sleep. I wanted to sleep in the car, but Tyler insisted that we sleep in the tent, as to take in the full camping experience. 20 minutes into my attempt at sleeping, I hear some wrestling with our trash outside -- I called to the others to confirm we were all hearing the same thing, and also to make sure it wasn't one of them peeing in the night air! The next thing I hear is Travis unzip his tent -- he runs out clapping his hand and yelling, "get out of here." Apparently, it was a skunk! Then we hear him fire a round off -- followed by some more rounds! He had scared off the little black and white stinker for good, or so we thought! Next thing we notice is that our air mattress is deflating, and pretty soon Tyler was touching ground. We hear something scampering around our tent -- neither of us had slept a wink at this point. Tyler suggested we sleep in the car, and I was like, "yep, sounds good to me!" Mind you, the whole time we were in the tent it was snowing! We woke up Saturday to a white May...what the heck is that about?!! It was pretty cold that morning, so we headed to Walmart in St. George to buy some warmer equipment. Anyway, long story short...we were cold this weekend, but we created some great memories, and we had fun!

It's delicious!

Madison and I were eating some chocolate the other day, and I thought it would be cute to get her to say the word delicious. So, I proceeded to prompt her to say the phrase, "mmmm...it's delicious!" She quickly copied me with her cute little voice, and said it perfectly! Then we went out for pizza last night, and she said it while she was eating the pizza and drinking root beer. We laughed, then she laughed, so she would do it again....she kept saying it! We thought it was so cute and funny! She is cheap entertainment!!! :)

Cinco De Mayo in San Diego

I thought this was a funny story -- one worthy of blogging about! :) My little niece Ashley who is 8 came to visit us while we were camping at the beach in San Diego. She looked at me a bit funny when she arrived, but didn't say anything. I didn't think much about it, but apparently she did! When I spoke to my sister a few days later, she told me that Ashley asked her why Aunt Nicole was wearing a 2 piece? She quickly said, "I will never wear a 2 piece mom." Then she proceeded to ask this question, "is Aunt Nicole going to make it to the promised land?"

I love children! Their minds are ripe for setting us straight. Their innocence is admirable! Maybe I need to retire my 2 piece for good...something to think about?!! :)

Christmas in Hawaii

This is the most recent family picture we have...pathetic I know, considering it was taken in December while we were in Hawaii for the Holidays.

We lost our digital camera, so I don't know how we are going to get some recent pics up?!! I think the guy at Jiffy Lube stole our camera...ahhh snap!!! We are el broko loco since we have a house payment now, so it might be a while before we have some new pics to post! Patience my friends...patience! :)
