Well, we started painting our house...phew! It took us 3 days (working at night) just to get 3 walls and a nook area done. We learned some painting tricks though, and the tricks worked well. The best trick we learned was to use caulking in the crease between the tape and the ceiling and where the baseboards meet the wall. This trick ensures perfect lines in the end - a lot of preparation, but well worth the result! It was a lot of work, but we saved a ton of money doing it ourselves. We also used the top line of Sherwin Williams paint, and that was worth the extra money as well. I love the color, and I am excited to have a little color on the walls! We are going to do some rock work on the bare wall you see in the photos, but we haven't decided on the rock color or style just yet. We are also in the process of ordering curtains for the windows and the slider, but they are on back order...ugh! Anyway, I just wanted to post the portion we have completed thus far, so here it is...

This is the wall we will do rock work on!

Yep...looks to be the same shade on Tyler's hands! I love the color, it looks fantastic.
looking good! Yellow is a happy color and you want something like that for your main living space! I can't wait to have a house to decorate!
I love it. It is more yellow than I was thinking you were going to do, but I LOVE IT. It is really bright and a good color for a kitchen and living room. Are you doing other rooms as well??
Yes, slowly but surely the whole house will get painted! But, it might have to wait a bit longer. We will do the rock and landscaping in the backyard next.
About the color - it looks more yellow in the picture, but it is a warmer yellow in person. Plus, with window and slider curtains, I think it will warm it up even more. I am really happy with how it turned out, and love it against the dark wood and dark furniture!
The window coverings will add a lot, I'm sure.
OH MY GOSH! It looks GORGEOUS!!!! Your house is just beautiful and man you are good at decorating!!! I wish I could some see it! :)
Love it! I just love how adding color to walls totally makes the room look different. And I love yellow walls in a kitchen. I'm glad you've been able to slowly but surely do work on your new place!
It looks so pretty and sophisticated. I think that the rock wall is a great idea!--I wouldn't have thought of that. Very bold. I can't wait to see it!
Love the color! Don't you just love what paint can do?!
Looks great! Painting sucks! It always takes so long...We miss you kids. We'll have to stop by on our way to Utah for Christmas.
