A haircut, a dancing/singing 2 yr. old, and Lovell Canyon

Do you think that someday Madison will be mad at me for posting all these nostril pics...lol?!!

Ok, so you might remember the pics I posted of Madison's first haircut a few months back at the salon. Well, we didn't quite take enough off - something about her paranoid mom...anyways! So, I bought a pair of scissors, and cut another inch or so off myself. Lets just say that I was bribing her with candy and stuff the whole time because she decided she did NOT want to sit still for me. She really is a stinker!!


She sat still for a minute, and I just went for it. I am sure that this cut would not pass the Paul Mitchell hair salon standards, but it definitely passes for Supercuts!! :) Hey, it's all about saving a buck or two, and this saved us 10!!


OMG, WHOSE CHILD IS THIS? This is just so SAD...lol!! Last week, Madison woke up, put on her socks and new shoes, and this is what she said as she walked down the hall, "hey mom, I'm ready to go walking!" I just started laughing hysterically!!


This is her dancing and singing in her nerdy, orphan outfit!! She was singing, "I wanna get physical!" Isn't that a Jane Fonda song?! It was the first song that popped into my head when I saw her like this. All she needs now is a headband and a leotard...lol!!

ROCK THE VOTE!

Today I exercised my right to vote, and it felt great! As I left, I walked by a young girl who said, "thank you for voting." I replied, "thank you to you too!" As I continued on my way I heard her shout, "did you Ba-rock the vote?" I turned and said, "excuse me?" She repeated herself, did you Ba-rock the vote?" I replied simply, "NO, I ROCKED the vote, and I voted for McCain!" She replied with, "oh, OK!" Ha, I think I was as stunned by her question as she was by my answer! Have any of you heard this clever little question?

Trick or Treat!!

Official Halloween trick or treat night!! Madison loved getting candy, and asks everyday, "can we go trick or treating today?" I guess I can't blame her for thinking that, considering we have been 3 times in a 1 week period!! She also asks if we can go to Disneyland almost everyday since we first went 3 weeks back. I guess we might need to invest in some season passes!! Now I just have to train her to ask her dad in the cutest way possible, so he can't say no...lol!

Poor Alexa had the flu last night, but she still was a trooper and went out trick or treating!

California Adventure!

Last Thursday, we went to Disney's California Adventure Halloween night. We went with Tyler's family, and we had a blast! This is us at dinner in down town Disney before entering the park.

Madison is obsessed with all the Disney princesses! This girl was just dressed up as Belle, and she looked so legitimate, that we thought she worked for Disney. It turned out that she was just a park goer, but she was more than gracious when asked to pose for a picture with Madison. This made Madison's night!! Thanks Princess Belle!

It was a long night for a 2 year old, so she decided to take a rest on daddy's BIG brainy noggin'!!

We painted!!

Well, we started painting our house...phew! It took us 3 days (working at night) just to get 3 walls and a nook area done. We learned some painting tricks though, and the tricks worked well. The best trick we learned was to use caulking in the crease between the tape and the ceiling and where the baseboards meet the wall. This trick ensures perfect lines in the end - a lot of preparation, but well worth the result! It was a lot of work, but we saved a ton of money doing it ourselves. We also used the top line of Sherwin Williams paint, and that was worth the extra money as well. I love the color, and I am excited to have a little color on the walls! We are going to do some rock work on the bare wall you see in the photos, but we haven't decided on the rock color or style just yet. We are also in the process of ordering curtains for the windows and the slider, but they are on back order...ugh! Anyway, I just wanted to post the portion we have completed thus far, so here it is...

I was on the phone tonight trying to get a babysitter for Saturday, I walk into my room, and there's Madison with my mascara!

Me: Madison, what are you doing? Oh my gosh, did you put mascara on?

Madison: Hi mom, I'm putting on your make-up! Look, I got lips!!

As you can see, she got a good amount of mascara on. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
