We painted!!

Well, we started painting our house...phew! It took us 3 days (working at night) just to get 3 walls and a nook area done. We learned some painting tricks though, and the tricks worked well. The best trick we learned was to use caulking in the crease between the tape and the ceiling and where the baseboards meet the wall. This trick ensures perfect lines in the end - a lot of preparation, but well worth the result! It was a lot of work, but we saved a ton of money doing it ourselves. We also used the top line of Sherwin Williams paint, and that was worth the extra money as well. I love the color, and I am excited to have a little color on the walls! We are going to do some rock work on the bare wall you see in the photos, but we haven't decided on the rock color or style just yet. We are also in the process of ordering curtains for the windows and the slider, but they are on back order...ugh! Anyway, I just wanted to post the portion we have completed thus far, so here it is...

I GOT LIPS!

I was on the phone tonight trying to get a babysitter for Saturday, I walk into my room, and there's Madison with my mascara!

Me: Madison, what are you doing? Oh my gosh, did you put mascara on?

Madison: Hi mom, I'm putting on your make-up! Look, I got lips!!

As you can see, she got a good amount of mascara on. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......

SAN DIEGO....SUPER CHARGERS!!!

We had good seats, and the Chargers worked the Jets...it was a fun game! Our brother in-law Jeff loves ebay, and on Friday night, he decided to see if he could get some Charger tickets on ebay...and, he did! The parking was rediculous, and I think I lost a pound just from the walk there and back(all uphill), but it was worth it!

Bethany and I were talking about how it would have been so fun to be an NFL cheerleader! Look at those bodies...they inspire me to get out and work it!!

DISNEYLAND!!

This last weekend, we went to California to visit Bethany, Jeff, and Alexa in Laguna Beach. We went to the beach on Friday, Disneyland on Saturday, my parent's house on Sunday, and the Charger game on Monday...it was a really busy weekend, but it was really fun!! We ate t Jeff's restaurant Friday night and Sunday morning...it is some of the best food I have ever had...no exaggeration! If you are ever in Dana point, you should go. It is called the RENAISSANCE -- they have live music every night, and they are great bands. Thanks Jeff and Bethany for showing us a good time!! Thanks to Courtney (Jeff's cousin) for getting us into Disney for free, and for hooking up the meeting with Princess Belle and Mickey Mouse privately without waiting in line -- you're awesome!!

At this point, she was done...really done! Her exact words were, "I'm all done. I want to go bye-bye!" She repeated this over and over. Poor little girl! Boy was she relieved when we left Mickey's house!!

Well, Madison decided to use her body as a canvas to showcase her drawing skills! She even drew on the bottom of her feet! Where was mom while this was happening? That's right, blogging!!! :)

She was so darn proud of herself, it made it difficult to be mad, but I did scold her mildly (is that an oxymoron)?! :) Anyways, then I stuck her in the bath for a major scrub down!! __________________________________________________

Happy Birthday Alexa!

This is my littlest niece Alexa, and she just turned one on Saturday! She is so cute, and so sweet, and it was so fun to celebrate with her on her special day!
